Prospective students interested in attending classes at UTA Fort Worth must be admitted by The University of Texas at Arlington. Students should be core complete or nearing completion.

Becoming a CRCJ Major at UTA Fort Worth

A criminology and criminal justice undergraduate degree requires 120 hours of study. For the Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice (CRCJ), students complete the UTA Core (Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board-approved core curriculum requirements), the CRCJ Core Curriculum and a select number of general electives.

The following steps are necessary in order to become a CRCJ major at UTA Fort Worth:

1. Once admitted as a UTA student, declare CRCJ as intended major with an UTA CRCJ academic advisor.

2. Students must earn a 2.5+ GPA in the first six hours of CRCJ courses to be admitted as a CRCJ major.

3. Students must maintain a 2.5+ GPA in CRCJ courses to remain a major and graduate.

4. Students must earn a C or better in all CRCJ courses
